Forum member STARGATE found a full page ad from sprint featuring the Palm Pre in a copy of the USA Today this morning.  This is good Sprint. Spread the word. There’s only so much the little guys like us can do.  The question on all of our minds now is this: will our multi-touch loving fingers get to grace the ever-so-clickable keys of the Pre soon?

The difficult truth may be that we won’t see the Pre for another 5 weeks or so. I’m getting ahead of myself there, but part of it is that we’re only NOW seeing advertisements from the Now-Network. That’s a bit slow on the game if you ask me Sprint, but then I think about the things I saw at CTIA. The Pre is polished and quite functional, but it isn’t finished yet (which is why they wouldn’t let journalists touch the thing without a Palm/Sprint rep’s hand still on it) and they needed to control the experience to keep press positive.  If the ads are just coming out, they’re probably entering the final stages of development and ramping up production of the device.  They need some time for the ads to hit and make their impression on the public.  For that and other reasons, I’d say we’re going to see the Pre drop in early to mid-May.

I know it’s not what we all want, but I’d rather have a polished device that kicks the iPhone’s shiny silver Apple from here to Cupertino.

Got an iPhone but you like the way that the Pre's User Interface looks? Well, I just spotted an article over at PalmAddicts about someone coming out with a Palm Pre theme for the iPhone.

balderson, a forum member over at modmyi.com has made a Palm Pre theme for the iPhone that has 29 icons, with more to come. The icons are editable PNGs, so you can modify them however you wish.

balderson gives instructions on how to get the Pre theme on your iPhone:

• First off, download the theme to your computer
• You're gonna either need to SSH into your phone or use DiskAid(this is easier)
• Open DiskAid and navigate to Root Folder > Library > Themes and copy the Palm Pre folder there.
• Go into your phone and open up Winterboard. Select Pre. Press the home button.

The screenshots look pretty good! I've got an iPhone and love it.  I think I'll skip putting the Pre theme on it since I plan to get a Pre as soon as they're available.  I did however get TealOS for my Centro before Palm killed it, and the app looks awesome.  I hope everyone who wanted TealOS grabbed a copy before time ran out.
